Ronin / Electrical
Separate power paths. Explicit owners.
The display, case lighting and host-start path have different jobs. Their integration is still a work in progress.
The LED adapter is not yet a tested assembly
The first RONIN ESP32 LED ADAPTER / REV A is ordered and modeled in CAD. Receipt, electrical and thermal checks, installed fit and physical LED output remain unverified. Its native PCB, schematic, Gerbers and manufacturing package are private.
The display stays USB-powered. SATA main power supplies the LED adapter; it is not standby power and does not provide a host-wake solution.
The current lighting arrangement
Two independent channels
The actual V1.0 Rainbow on a Matchstick boards have ten pixels each and no daisy-chain output connector. Each board needs its own data channel. The integral power-button indicator is separate from these auxiliary LEDs.
5 V for these Matchsticks
The adapter design has shared manual 5 V / 12 V LED-power selection. The actual Matchsticks require 5 V. The 12 V position is only for compatible lighting in another configuration; data remains 5 V.
This is a design summary, not an energized wiring procedure. Mating-cavity maps, display connections, harness dimensions, power sequencing and physical firmware output require confirmation before powered instructions are finalized.
Component status
| Component | Confirmed scope | Open details |
|---|---|---|
| Blamm Rainbow on a Matchstick | Two V1.0 boards, ten pixels per board. | Physical mounts, independent harnesses, mating parts and output checks. |
| Power-button indicator | Integral indicator, separate from auxiliary RGB lighting. | Final assembly and harness documentation. |
| Ronin LED adapter Rev A | Ordered board; its intended role is LED power and data. | Receipt, electrical/thermal tests, fit and verified connection maps. |
| Mosfet.Party PS_ON adapter | Owner-confirmed working ATX 24pin edition with button kit; sole PS_ON owner. | Any future supervisor interface needs separate electrical and timing qualification. |
| Mosfet.Party EPS Power Adapter | Credited power-distribution component in the design. | Final CAD placement, mounting and harness documentation. |
Keep the working PS_ON controller in charge
Rev A does not contain the complete standby, controller-listener and host-start path. The private Rev B placement study targets a board under 120 mm wide; it is unrouted and is not a manufacturing release.
Standby load, USB isolation, boot states, wake timing and actual BC250 shutdown/suspend behavior remain to be proved. Controller discovery or a display scene waking is not evidence that the computer can start and reach gameplay.
