Wall mounts for eero and UniFi switches

Printed Darthbarney's eero mount and designed custom wall mounts for two UniFi Flex Mini 2.5G switches. Parts printed, delivered, and mounted.

Shipped. This started with an eero wall mount and grew into a small set of mounts to get networking hardware off the desk. The parts have been printed, delivered, and mounted. Photos of the finished installation are still to come; the images here are a Blender visualization and an actual slicer screenshot.

Credit where it belongs

For the eero, I printed the Eero 6+ Plus Wall Mount by Darthbarney, available on Prusa's Printables.com. That design belongs to its creator; my part of that work was printing the mount for this installation.

A custom mount for the UniFi switches

I then designed a custom mount in SolidWorks for a pair of Ubiquiti UniFi Flex Mini 2.5G (USW-Flex-2.5G-5) switches. The result is a low-profile holder with retaining edges, wall-fixing holes, and an opening in the retaining face. Two copies were prepared for printing.

The opening image was rendered in Blender using geometry exported from my actual SolidWorks part. The switch and desktop setting are modeled context, not photographs of the customer's installation.

From CAD to the printer

The supplied slicer view shows both mounts standing on edge, with the generated supports and toolpaths visible. Its estimate for this plate is 4 hours 47 minutes; that is a slicer estimate, not a measured print duration. The colors identify toolpath features and supports, rather than the final filament colors.

This project brought together two useful approaches: print an existing design and credit its creator where it fits the job, then make a custom part for the hardware that needs one. The mounts are shipped; the next addition to this page will be real installation photos when I have them.
